Shaheem Kader – Director
Growing up in the Cape Flats amid poverty and gangsterism, Shaheem found hope and identity through rugby, which became his lifeline. His journey from hardship to success shaped the vision for Ripple of Kindness NPO, where he now creates safe spaces, mentorship opportunities, and resources for underprivileged youth. Today, he channels his resilience into empowering others and building brighter futures while honoring his mother’s sacrifices.

Adnaan Begg – Director
Growing up in the Cape Flats, Adnaan experienced both the warmth of community and the harsh realities of violence and inequality. Guided by his grandfather’s wisdom and strengthened through sport, he developed resilience, discipline, and a deep commitment to uplifting others. Shaped by the struggles of apartheid and its aftermath, Adnaan channels his passion into volunteering, justice, and community empowerment, striving to create a future built on hope, resilience, and unity.

Tashreequah Begg – Trustee
Tashreequah is a dedicated and compassionate individual whose faith and values of kindness, integrity, and service shape everything she does. With a BA in Humanities, a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing, and her ongoing studies in Education, she combines creativity with a passion for uplifting communities. As a trustee of Ripple of Kindness, she is committed to good governance, sustainability, and meaningful impact, ensuring the organization stays true to its mission of giving and serving others.

Mareldia Fagodien – Secretary
Mareldia holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics with majors in Food Science and Logistics and is gaining hands-on experience as a logistics Coordinator, bringing expertise in supply chain management and resource coordination to her role as Secretary of Ripple of Kindness, where she supports initiatives addressing food insecurity and sustainable development while ensuring the NPO’s operations align with its mission of service, justice, and equality.

Umer Abrahams – Trustee
Umer Abrahams, a BCom Law graduate passionate about learning and helping others, is dedicated to giving back to the community and supporting the less fortunate; as a member of Ripple of Kindness, he leverages his skills and knowledge to create meaningful change, believing in the ripple effect of kindness to spread positivity and hope while contributing to a more compassionate and equitable society.

Baaqir Kader – Trustee
Baaqir, a BA Marketing graduate and passionate rugby player, is dedicated to giving back to his community and leveraging his marketing skills to support charitable initiatives like Ladles of Love; committed to fostering youth development, promoting wellness, and inspiring personal and collective growth, he combines his professional expertise, leadership, and values from sport to amplify the voices of those in need and create a meaningful impact.

Achmat Hoosain – Chairperson
Raised in the close-knit Ottery neighborhood known as "the flats," I grew up amid gang-related challenges but was guided by the strict yet caring support of my parents, whose emphasis on education and values helped me navigate adversity; my involvement with the local mosque and charitable activities further instilled a sense of responsibility and service, shaping my commitment to positively impact both my community and personal life.

Riad Daniels – Treasurer
Riad, the second youngest of five from Mitchells Plain, overcame socioeconomic challenges to become the first in his family to earn a tertiary education. With over 27 years in financial services, he is a CFA charterholder, former APFI Director, Trustee of the Khanyisa Trust, and an active supporter of sports, education, and community initiatives.
